Blackstrap Molasses

Blackstrap Molasses is a low Glycemic Index (GI) food. This means the glucose and carbohydrates are metabolized slowly, demanding less insulin production and stabilizing blood sugar.
Where does blackstrap molasses come from?
Blackstrap molasses is the final by-product of the process of refining sugar cane into table sugar. It is made from the third boiling of the sugar syrup.
Refined Sugar is not health-promoting and depletes precious minerals like potassium, magnesium, sodium, and calcium from your body, hence tooth decay and osteoporosis. It also causes your body to produce excess amounts of insulin.
In contrast, Molasses are the left over components of sugarcane juice after sugar is extracted, it contains a concentrated level of the vitamins and minerals that were present in the sugarcane itself.
Blackstrap molasses is valued for its manganeseiron and copper content. It also contains calciumpotassium and magnesiumvitamin B6 and selenium.
Many products that are sugar-free contain artificial sweeteners like saccharine or aspartame but these not only provide no useful nutrients but have been shown to cause health problems. Instead of those, using blackstrap molasses is indeed the natural healthier choice!
