Chateau La Vernede Rouge 2018
The younger generation of the Paux-Rosset (La Negly) acquired this property at the end of 2017 with the aim of bringing it all into organic farming. With the help of the consultant Claude Gros, they deliver this juicy and carefree Languedoc red, a balanced blend of Syrah, Monastrell, and Garnacha. A red ready to be enjoyed that promises, in the words of interim Parker taster Joe Czerwinski.
Description:
The owners are Bastien and Marion Paux -Rosset (Brother and sister). Both have always worked at Château la Négly to take on a new challenge together in 2017. Their wines are already a hit Jeb Dunnuck 94/100 This inky-colored effort has a juicy, lively bouquet of black raspberries, melted licorice, orange blossom, and candied violets. A ripe, full-bodied effort, it packs some muscle, yet it’s beautifully textured and seamless on the palate, with a rocking sense of elegance. Drink this beautiful Chateau La Vernede Rouge over the coming 5-7 years or so.
70% Syrah, 30% Grenache

Spicy, with notes of ripe and candied fruit

In the mouth it is wide and rich, generous, with silky tannins.
