Dr Trouble lemon chilli sauce is handcrafted in one of the remotest parts of Southern Africa. A strong, lemon flavour with notes of ginger, mango masala, and a touch of garlic. Medium heat, blend 75% Bird’s Eye chili with 25% Cayenne. It enhances the taste. With the perfect balance of flavor and heat. Creating a truly unique taste of wild Africa.

A good rainy season allows us to produce only 230,000 hot chilli sauce bottles each year. Each season creates a vintage, which means the subtle taste can flow from sweet and sharp to a more tart and tangy mouth feel. It’s a true privilege to experience this rare chilli sauce.


Dr Trouble hot sauce made with the pure fresh lemon juice, squeezed from wild-grown lemons nurtured on tribal lands, chilies grown and hand graded by the team Which means our hot sauce bottles contains no sugar, no vinegar, colourants, or added preservatives. This means it’s low in calories, suitable for vegans as well as gluten and nut free.


Dr Trouble Chilli Sauce is a limited quantity, small-batch, artisanal sauce, produced on our northern Zimbabwean farm, in a custom-built Food Standards Certified facility. Dr Trouble Sauce is unique in that we only use fresh lemon juice instead of the more commonly used (and cheap) preservative vinegar. There are no artificial preservatives, thickeners or colorants used in the recipe, making Dr Trouble Sauce a truly all-natural product. The lemons we use are sourced from naturally organic trees from the tribal lands in the Zambezi Valley of Zimbabwe, providing a vital source of income to rural people living in one of the most isolated parts of the world. Our high-quality cayenne and birds eye chillies are grown to the highest ethical standards, with full traceability. They are hand-graded to ensure only the finest quality are used in our sauce. Dr Trouble Sauce is batch- fermented in custom-blown glass flagons for up to 100 days, under the abundant African sun. We use salt sourced from the Botswana salt pans, unique for its exceptional flavour. We smoke our chillies over English oak in custom made smokers. No liquid smoke is used in our process and this gives us the deep smoky tones in this piquant sauce. We take great pride and passion in producing a high quality and unique sauce in one of the most isolated places in the world, surrounded by the savannah and wildlife in Africa’s Eden.
